XboxOne Will Have Youtube Day1

When Microsoft announced the list of apps that will be available during the Xbox One's launch window earlier this month, YouTube was, like on PlayStation 4, one of the notable omissions. As it turns out, a YouTube app for Xbox One is on the way and will be available on launch day in most markets.

The YouTube app will feature support for voice controls -- you can play, pause, fast forward, and so on by first saying, "YouTube" -- in addition to gesture controls, channel subscriptions, and 1080p video streaming. The app will not, however, be compatible with Snap mode right out of the gate; Microsoft says it's hoping to add additional functionality, such as Snap mode, "in the coming months."

All Xbox One launch markets where YouTube is available will have access to the YouTube app this Friday, November 22, with the exception of Austria, Ireland, and New Zealand. Those territories won't have long to wait, though, as they will see the app released "in the coming days."
