Friends and colleagues of Bill Paxton have shared their memories of the actor and filmmaker on social media, after he passed away suddenly from complications post-surgery.

Paxton's passing has sent Hollywood reeling, and everyone from Tom Hanks to Clark Gregg have chimed in to share their memories and offer condolences to his family.
Arnold Schwarzenegger called Paxton a "great human being with a huge heart."
Jeffrey Dean Morgan was Paxton's co-star in Texas Rising, and calls him "one of the greatest people ever".

Clark Gregg starred with Paxton in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Helen Hunt remembers her Twister co-star.

Marvel made an official statement on its Twitter page.

Jamie Lee Curtis calls her True Lies co-star a "funny, talented, loving human."
James Cameron, who directed Paxton in The Terminator, Aliens, True lies and Titanic, shared his thoughts with Vanity Fair. You can read his email to the publication below.
"I've been reeling from this for the past half hour, trying to wrap my mind and heart around it. Bill leaves such a void. He and I were close friends for 36 years, since we met on the set of a Roger Corman ultra-low budget movie. He came in to work on set, and I slapped a paint brush in his hand and pointed to a wall, saying "Paint that!" We quickly recognized the creative spark in each other and became fast friends. What followed was 36 years of making films together, helping develop each others' projects, going on scuba diving trips together, watching each others kids growing up, even diving the Titanic wreck together in Russian subs. It was a friendship of laughter, adventure, love of cinema, and mutual respect. Bill wrote beautiful heartfelt and thoughtful letters, an anachronism in this age of digital shorthand. He took good care of his relationships with people, always caring and present for others. He was a good man, a great actor, and a creative dynamo. I hope that amid the gaudy din of Oscar night, people will take a moment to remember this wonderful man, not just for all the hours of joy he brought to us with his vivid screen presence, but for the great human that he was. The world is a lesser place for his passing, and I will profoundly miss him."

"Mr. Mike" - As a hobbyist review and major film buff myself I followed Mr. Paxton's career for a long time. From Aliens to Twister to finally Edge Of Tomorrow plus many others, he was always an exciting actor from serious to seriously funny, Bill Paxton always brought his AAA game. I wonder what if he were still here what would Mr. Paxton bring to future films? We will never get that chance to know now. He was taken from us way too soon like many others before him, he will always be missed and always remembered! R.I.P. Mr. Bill Paxton!!

Famous Bill Paxton Line: "Game Over, Man! Game Over!"
