Microsoft Confirms Users Can Perform a Clean Installation If Upgrading to Windows 10

The free upgrade from Windows 7/8.1 to Windows 10 also allows eligible users to perform a clean installation of the operating system. Gabriel Aul, head of the Windows Insider Program at Microsoft, has tweeted the confirmation.

 

The phrasing implies some double-handling for those hoping to perform a clean installation of Windows 10, in that it appears Windows 7/8.1 has to be upgraded to 10 before the clean-installation option becomes valid.
