XboxOne April System Update

The Xbox One April System Update will add voice messaging, dedicated servers for party chat and more. Microsoft has revealed a second wave of additions coming when the patch hits, in addition to the chat and achievement improvements previously announced.


Top of the new features is the ability to leave voice messages for friends. You'll be able to compose and playback voice messages in the messages app when snapped on Xbox One and then send them by double-tapping the Xbox button. You'll also be able to exchange between Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles.

Alongside this, dedicated servers for party chat are being added to improve quality and reliability. Finally, changes to the What's On are will see Xbox One preview members in Canada and the UK get to experience recommendations alongside their American cousins, while the Staff Picks are now more tailored to you based on the games you've recently played.

Microsoft recently added the ability to take screenshots and introduced a new suggested friends feature with the Xbox One March system update. It also included party chat enhancements featuring icons to show a user’s microphone status, tile transparency, voice search privacy, and the ability to report spam.
