CES: Toshiba Announces First 4K Laptops

The focus of 4K technology has centered around HDTV, Toshiba is planning to launch two laptops with 4K displays later this year.

The Tecra W50 is a 15.6-inch diagonal display laptop "designed for professionals working with graphically intensive applications," and will pack in a 2GB Nvidia Quadro K2100M GPU.

 The Satellite P50t is also in the 15-inch class, but features touch-screen functionality working in congress with Windows 8.1. Just looking at the images of the two laptops, the Satellite P50t appears considerably thinner than the Tecra W50--no surprise given the latter's workstation pedigree.
Both laptops deliver a 3840 x 2160 resolution at 282 PPI. Unfortunately, there's no word as to pricing just yet.
