Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Release Date Leaked

A slip on the Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag website has suggested the game will be released on October 29th, and will appear on next-gen consoles.

A page was uploaded offering users the chance to watch the world premiere trailer for the game, bearing the accompanying text "also coming to next-gen consoles October 29th." It's since been taken down, but you can check it out above.

This is the latest leak regarding the next entry in the Assassin's Creed franchise; so many details have seeped out over the past week that Ubisoft was forced to acknowledge of the existence of the game yesterday, while promising a full reveal would be coming on Monday.
This date might have been a placeholder, but we've heard before that Assassin's Creed is now an annualized franchise; seeing as Assassin's Creed III released at the end of October last year, it's not exactly a risky assumption that the next entry in the series will launch around a similar time.
This would mean that Black Flag will be the latest of several games that will straddle the generations, appearing on both the current set of consoles and the next-generation machines when they're released. Again, if we look to how Assassin's Creed III appeared on Xbox 360 and PS3 before cropping up on Wii U once the console launched, this isn't too outlandish an idea either.
