South Korean electronics giant LG is set to lift the lid on two new 4K
TV units of its own at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las
Vegas. The new smaller 55 and 65-inch models complement the company's
previously-announced 84-inch model.
The company's line of 4K televisions, branded as Ultra HD TV, include
all the accouterments one would expect from a high end display. The 4K
resolution contains 8 million pixels per frame, or four times that of a
standard HDTV. The sets also include access to LG's collection of 1400
Smart TV apps. The sets will also upscale existing 1080p content to the
new 4K resolution. Full 3D support with depth control, 3D "Sound
zooming" and simultaneous "dual play" multiplayer are also included
standard.
More details, most notably pricing, have not yet been announced.
