Google Drive is here! at least secretly here meaning here but not officially announced just yet.
aka google play you can download the app to share, upload, & download files to your Google Drive a cloud based storage service offered by Google in hopes to build a business/consumer user base for easy online storage and backup. The supposed 5GB starter storage limit is included and you can get more at a cost if desired. Google states in the app as follows "Google Drive is the new home for your Google Docs, Files and folders. Sync from all your PC's and devices and store up to 5GB for free!"
Even though for myself I already have 3 cloud based storage systems one more can not hurt.
You do not need a Google branded device to use Google Drive you can use it on your PC, and also soon for Mac & IOS. The app interface is simple looking like using Gmail nothing to jump for joy about, but it does have an encryption option for data! larger storage plans are just 5GB are provided gratis, with 25GB costing $2.49 per month, 100GB
running you $4.99 per month and 1TB demanding $49.99 per month, with a
maximum of 16TB ($799.99 per month, if you're curious) per user;
thankfully, Google Docs will not be included in your usage total.
Finally, the note played up the ability to "attach documents directly
into your Drive Gmail," and given that it's intended to be an open
platform, Googe's promising to work with third party developers in order
to enhance Drive's functionality even further.
