E3 2015: Halo 5: Guardians - New Campaign Details

We knew that Agent Jameson Locke was on the hunt for Master Chief, but a new gameplay demo shown during Microsoft's E3 press conference gives a clearer idea of what's to come in 343 Industries' new Halo 5: Guardians.

The demo opens with gameplay from Agent Locke's perspective. With Osiris team, he's on the hunt for Master Chief. Locke uses the Artemis, which appears to be a new device that lets you scan the environment for clues.
In the distance, the mammoth "Guardian" looms, and they wonder whether the Chief has already made it on board.


After the path they're on begins to crumble, Locke and his team come face to face with teleporting Prometheans -- the enemies of Halo 4. Locke takes them out and picks up a new weapon for the Halo series, the Plasma Caster, which looks similar to an energy crossbow.

A boss-like Promethean enemy get in their way, apparently halting their pursuit of the Master Chief. The demo cuts to a montage of campaign shots showing more Promethean-like enemies and the already-announced release date of October 27.

Earlier this month, we learned that Blue Team would play an integral role in Master Chief's story. Each character has their own role in the cooperative story, as will Agent Locke's Osiris team.
